MAN JAILED FOR DRUGS OFFENCES |
||
|
A man has been jailed following an investigation into the ‘Jerry’ drugs line in Tamworth. Kamil Nobis, 21, from West Bromwich, was sentenced to four-years-and-six-months behind bars at Stafford Crown Court on Thursday (4 December) after he pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin and possession of cannabis and criminal property. On Wednesday 4 June, officers attempted to stop a man in Amington following an investigation into the ‘Jerry’ drugs line. The man attempted to run away, but was detained a short distance away. A flat in the area was searched, and officers seized the ‘Jerry’ drugs line phone, crack cocaine worth an estimated £720, heroin worth an estimated £130, £1,000 in cash, cannabis, a ‘tick’ list and a number of bank cards. Despite remaining silent when he was interviewed in custody, Nobis later pleaded guilty in court when faced with the evidence against him. We’re working hard in Staffordshire to bring a stop to the drug networks that are profiting from addiction and vulnerability in local communities. These networks often coerce vulnerable local people into selling the drugs on their behalf and are often linked to further organised crime. It is vital that anyone who witnesses drug dealing reports it to us so that we can act robustly against the criminals involved. Call 101, or use Live Chat on our website. If you want to stay anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Tell them what you know, not who you are.
